Principal

Scott Elliot
I am excited to be the Principal of the Central Region! As the leader of the Central Region, I fully commit myself to furthering GOAL’S mission of developing productive members of society. My journey in education began 20 years ago as a coordinator for an after school program at a local elementary school. During my time in this position, I realized my love for teaching and acquired my Master’s Degree in Education. Throughout my time teaching, I enjoyed leading educational teams, specifically in the acquisition of technology. It became apparent that I wanted to pursue a role in leadership, so I attained an administrator license. I then transitioned out of the classroom and into a technology leadership role where I mentored teachers. This role led me to my first Administrator position at a local high school, where I served as an Assistant Principal and Athletic Director. four years ago, I was given the privilege of becoming an Assistant Principal for Goal High School at the Canon City location. I thoroughly enjoyed working in this role and it became apparent to me that this organization aligns fully with my vision for students in education. I am excited about this opportunity and look forward to working with everyone in this role. I love working with educators, students, and families to meet our mission and vision. I can honestly say that GOAL feels like home and I feel blessed to be part of this organization.

My name is Candice Montoya, and I am proud to serve as the Assistant Principal for our wonderful site located on the south side of Pueblo. I have been in education for over 20 years, beginning my career as an elementary school teacher right here in Pueblo, Colorado.

From a very young age, I found myself drawn to leadership. As early as my second year in education, I was serving as a team lead and department lead—roles that deepened my commitment to guiding others and supporting student success. Leadership has always been my pathway, and it continues to be my passion today.
In 2011, I joined GOAL High School as an Academic Coach, later becoming a Teacher, and now serving as Assistant Principal. It has been a wonderful and rewarding journey—one filled with opportunities to help countless students achieve their dream of high school graduation. Along the way, I’ve been honored to build a team that truly loves working with students. Together, we have created a culture of care, collaboration, and growth—an environment where students can thrive both academically and personally.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University Pueblo in 2006, followed by my Master of Education in 2009. Continuing my passion for learning and leadership, I obtained my Principal Licensure in 2016.

At GOAL Regency, our team is dedicated to providing every student with a high-quality, supportive, and meaningful educational experience. We are honored to partner with our families and are fully committed to helping all of our students reach their goals and cross that graduation stage with pride.
