GOAL’s newly appointed Chief Executive Officer, Jill Toussaint, shared a vision sixteen years ago with another GOAL veteran who recently filled her former position as Chief Academic Officer, Jason Hochevar. It was a pilot program that has now grow into Colorado’s largest and most innovative high school! GOAL High School continues to grow and the staff of more than 700 continue to lead with heart. February marks American Heart Health Month, a time to focus on caring for our hearts both physically and emotionally. At GOAL, we believe heart health goes beyond the physical; it’s about fostering a culture of positivity, compassion, and support for every student.
Our “Heart of GOALd” initiative embodies this philosophy. GOAL is more than a school, it’s a second chance, and for some, a last chance. We strive to help students achieve their full potential in a caring, supportive, and personalized environment, because we know that when students feel valued and loved, they thrive academically and personally.
Just as a healthy heart sustains life, a healthy school culture sustains hope. With a strong emphasis on ensuring every student finds at least ONE CARING ADULT, GOAL High School brings additional focus and training to understanding trauma and relationship-building. This connection is often the spark that helps a student discover their passion—the thing they love with all their HEART. When students feel supported and understood, they thrive. What once were obstacles seem to fade quickly away. As one graduate shared, “GOAL offered me a second chance… It was the first time I ever felt like I mattered.” That sense of belonging and purpose is at the core of our mission: to help every learner unlock both academic success, personal fulfillment and a strong desire to pass it on.
This February, we invite our communities to join us in celebrating heart health—by promoting kindness, empathy, and resilience. At GOAL High School, positivity isn’t just a mindset—it’s the heartbeat of our mission.

1,755 GOAL graduates crossed the stage in 2025!
