GOAL High School offers HOPE and a fresh start for Colorado teens
September served as Suicide Prevention Month, a time to spotlight teen mental health. However, the reality is clear: suicide prevention must be a 24/7, 365-day commitment. For many teens, traditional school environments can feel overwhelming, isolating, or inflexible – factors that can contribute to anxiety, depression, and hopelessness.
For some, the holidays bring joy, laughter, and celebration. But for others, all that excitement can make this season feel even heavier—with sadness, anxiety, or loneliness.
Depression doesn’t always look the same. Sometimes it’s hidden behind a smile. Sometimes it’s masked with alcohol or drugs. Sometimes, heartbreakingly, it leads to suicide—a permanent solution to temporary problems.

The 2025 Suicide Prevention Slogan, “No One Else Can Play Your Part,” is a powerful reminder that every person is unique, irreplaceable, and deeply valued. You matter—and help is always within reach.
GOAL High School, a free public charter school, serving students across Colorado, offers a unique option. With a flexible online curriculum and in-person support at 40-plus drop-in centers, GOAL provides students with the structure, encouragement, and personalized attention they need to succeed — academically and emotionally.
“GOAL gives students a reset button,” says Gunnison Pagnotta, Senior Communications Manager. “Our genuine and caring staff serve to help them rebuild confidence, rediscover their potential, and graduate with pride. By fostering a supportive, student-centered environment, GOAL helps students stay connected, feel seen, and find purpose. In this sense, it’s more than a school — it’s a lifeline.
