Creating a Positive Culture for Student Success!

GOAL High School – Roots in Pueblo with Statewide Wings…

PUEBLO, CO. DATE—-August 3, 2023   GOAL High School takes professional development and school culture very seriously.  More than 600 staff members visited Pueblo recently for two days of intensive training, culture building and bonding in preparation for the anticipated 6,000 students this school year.

GOAL High School, rooted and headquartered in Pueblo, serves high school students in Fremont County and beyond through its Canon City student drop-in center at 127 Justice Center Road (right next to the movie theater). This year, Florence will become GOAL’s 39th drop-in center with a location at 318 West Main.

Enrollment is wide open until September 29TH for a free and public education from an established school in its 15th year! GOAL is a statewide multi-district charter school. The drop-in centers feature one-on-one support in academics, counseling or social-emotional learning. Rides are provided to the sites as well as food and fun social opportunities, including Esports, prom and crafting. Locations from Craig to Sterling and Cortez to Trinidad allow students to “drop-in” at any time Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“The positive culture at GOAL high School is essential for student success,” says Director of Communications and GOAL veteran, Alan VanNorman. The school has adopted the unique Flippen cultural model based on ‘Capturing Kid’s Hearts’. “We have leveraged the Flippen model for years and enjoyed steady growth and continual success,” added VanNorman, who got his start with GOAL in Canon City more than a decade ago. In that time frame, he advanced from a paraprofessional to a teacher, then an administrator. VanNorman now oversees communications for the entire school.

GOAL’s unique model of education has proven successful, as over 1,100 students walked across stage this past spring.  GOAL’s Forum theme, created by Senior Application Developer, Christina Liptak, sums it up best… Empower… Educate… Graduate.”
